Today marks 36 years since the day when the word of a great and unheard disaster – “Chernobyl” entered our lives…
On April 26, the largest technological catastrophe of mankind took place at the Chernobyl NPP.
Our memory will return again and again to those tragic April days. Chernobyl is millions of people affected by the disaster and its consequences, it is thousands of square kilometers of radiation-affected territory.
And Chernobyl is not only a great tragedy, but also a symbol of the infinite bravery of many thousands of our citizens.
Now it’s hard to imagine how much effort we had to put in to protect the world from a terrible disaster.
Thank you very much to all the liquidators, for the immortal feat they followed the calling of their hearts, without thinking about the awards, honors and benefits.
And today, the workers of the nuclear plant stand guarding the peaceful atom. I express a big thank you to all the staff of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant for courage and professionalism. You did not leave your post of responsibility even during the occupation, doing your job under the guise of Russian machines.
You certainly protected humanity from a possible repeat of the tragedy of 1986. Thank you so much for this.
I know that each of us will do our best so that the horror of the Chernobyl disaster will never be repeated.
I sincerely wish the accident liquidators and health station workers, long life and peace.
